Scheduled tasks and dashboards: the operator layer
Most people use Claude by asking. The shift that changes a business is from "ask Claude" to "Claude runs on a schedule". Work arrives without anyone remembering to request it.
Five routines worth scheduling
- •
Monday plan. The week's meetings, deadlines and priorities in one note before you start.
- •
Daily inbox triage. Email sorted, urgent items flagged and replies drafted for review.
- •
Friday pipeline check. Which leads went cold, which quotes are waiting, who needs a follow-up.
- •
Monthly report. The numbers you look at every month, built from your data and written up.
- •
Quarterly review. What changed, what slipped and what to focus on next quarter.
Dashboards worth building
A good dashboard answers the questions you ask every week. For most service businesses that means leads, jobs or matters in progress, cash owed and team workload. Built from the business's own data and refreshed automatically, it replaces the spreadsheet someone builds by hand.
The review rule
Nothing goes on a schedule until it has been reviewed by a human for a few cycles. Once it is proven, let it run. That is how we work in ongoing Claude consulting, and it is part of how we work generally. For the basics, see how to set up Claude for your business.
